Running/Walking - You Can Fundraise as a Team

Running, walking and fundraising as a team is a great way to enjoy the 2018 Run to Home Base presented by New Balance with friends, family, and coworkers. Forming a team encourages fun competition among businesses, civic groups, schools, and clubs. For corporate teams, this can also be a great way to display company spirit. Team members can host group fundraisers to generate donations. On race day, running/walking together can also make the event even more enjoyable.

It?s easy to create or join a team! Simply register for the 9K or the 5K. During registration you will be prompted to create a fundraising profile and will have the option to join or create a team.

Two Kinds of Teams:

  • Public Teams: Open to anyone who wishes to join the team. Each runner/walker must meet his/her own fundraising minimum requirement.
  • Private Teams: Open only to invited participants who are approved by team captains (open for example, a company team that wishes to only include employees). All race participants still must meet his/her own per participant requirement.

Please note that regardless of the amount your team raises, each runner adult (age 14 and over) team member is required to raise the fundraising minimum. Children under 14 may participate in the 5K only for $125. For the team fundraising records posted on the Top Fundraisers page, the sum of each individual team member?s fundraising will be added together to calculate the overall total team record.

Two Ways to Make a Donation:

Donors wishing to make a donation can select an individual team member OR decide to make a general donation to the entire team. Additionally, donors can donate to multiple individual team members, but in that case each donation must be a separate transaction.

General team donations will be divided equally among all team members regardless of how much each individual fundraiser has raised towards his/her goal.  Team donations will be applied to each individual fundraiser's total just prior to calculating whether or not they have reached their minimum fundraising goal.  If the amount applied puts the fundraiser over the threshold, their card will not be charged.
