Runner and Walker Benefits
 
Participants in the 2012 Run-Walk to Home Base Presented by New Balance will have two thrilling experiences at the end of their course.
           
Runners participating in the 9K Run will have timed chips in their bibs recording their race time as they cross the timed finish line in front of Fenway Park’s iconic Green Monster. Registered runners will proceed along the warning track by the visitor’s dugout for a “photo finish” where each runner will be photographed crossing home plate. All registered runners are eligible for a free photo to be distributed via the web.
           
Registered Walkers in the 3 mile Walk will have a shorter route, but they, too will enjoy entering Fenway Park walking along the warning track with a “photo finish” of each Walker crossing home plate. Registered Walkers are eligible for one free photo, redeemable online within ten days after the Run-Walk to Home Base.
           
Walkers will receive an official 2012 Run-Walk to Home Base Presented by New Balance numbered bib, but Walkers will not be timed. However, due to restrictions on street closures, Walkers will be required to finish their walk within the allotted time for the walk portion of the event.
           
All eligible participants will receive a special 2012 Run-Walk to Home Base jersey and baseball hat. Participants will be provided with water along the route and a snack following the race.
           
Concession stands at Fenway Park will be open throughout the event for participants, their families and friends to enjoy. There will also be family friendly activities including the Military Appreciation Area by BAE Systems and the Family Fun Zone Presented by Our Family for Families First Foundation.
