A Run and Walk to honor our nation's heroic veterans
The 2012 Run-Walk to Home Base presented by New Balance will honor our nation’s heroic veterans and help raise much needed funds for the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. This outreach will serve the many veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat stress and/or traumatic brain injury and their families.
You can be an MVP on the home base team. Here's how...
New England’s veterans and families served us. Now it’s time to serve them. We hope you can join us for the 2012 Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Run-Walk to Home Base!

![]() Funds raised by and through the 2012 Run-Walk to Home Base will be used to support the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program, a philanthropic partnership focused on veterans returning from service in Afghanistan and Iraq with traumatic brain injuries and/or combat stress and their families. Our program includes four components: confidential clinical care for veterans with these two injuries, outreach to veteran's families who are affected by these "signature wounds" of war, innovative research and educational programs for healthcare providers, clergy, social workers and the community at large. Recent studies suggest that as many as one third of servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq may be affected by combat stress and/or traumatic brain injury. Our mission is to help these veterans obtain the care they need and deserve. |
