Fundraiser Progress

$510.00 OF $550.00 GOAL

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

My first time running the Run to Home Base was in 2011 while Paul was deployed to Afghanistan. At that point, I thought it would be a nice thing to do; I never realized that Paul would return 5 months later with a traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress disorder--exactly the "invisible wounds of war" that Home Base Program helps with.

A year after the events that caused Paul's TBI, he was seen by top doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehab thanks to Home Base. We were given advice and an outlook from the best of the best and left having a general idea of what to expect going forward and feeling reassured that nothing was overlooked.

Home Base provides clinical care, education, and wellness support for Post-9/11 veterans and the families that stand by them. Now that I'm done being pregnant and caring for new babies, I'm ready to jump back in and raise funds for this program that's helped thousands of warriors and families, including my own.

I'm running as part of a team called The Pilum Project. The Pilum Project is a health and wellness movement that was born from Paul's desire to encourage veterans to push themselves instead of doubting themselves despite the challenges and pre-existing conditions that they believe are holding them back--paired with my passion as (as a mom and caregiver) for fostering a healthy, whole lifestyle and home for my own family and sharing those ideas with others. Our motto is "Bend never break." We are running alongside our good friend Maureen, who has been running in Paul's honor since 2011, has raised thousands of dollars for Home Base Program, and has been a constant support in our lives, as well as her mom Cathy and her sister Carin.

Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and for considering donating to this cause so near and dear to us!

Help support our veterans by donating to my “Run to Home Base presented by New Balance“ race entry.

The 2018 RUN TO HOME BASE presented by New Balance is a unique and special event that celebrates our Military Heroes and raises necessary funds for Home Base, a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. The mission of Home Base is to heal the invisible wounds for Post-9/11 Veterans, Service Members and their Families, but we need your support.

Your support of Home Base will help to ensure that Veterans who served our country receive the clinical treatment they need and that their Families get the guidance and support they need.

Their Mission Is Complete. Ours Has Just Begun.
