Fundraiser Progress

$2,030.00 OF $2,000.00 GOAL

This year I decided to once again sign up for the Run to Home Base, which will be held in July 2018. This will be my 6th year participating in this great fundraiser. The course is 5.6 miles and allows each runner to finish in the warning track at Fenway Park, and then actually cross home plate (and who doesn't want to see another Yankee cross home plate at Fenway)! Proceeds from the race will benefit the Home Base Program, which is run by the Red Sox Foundation and Mass General Hospital, with the mission to serve the needs of veterans suffering from combat stress disorder and/or traumatic brain injury as well as their families. Overall, over 2,000 runners’ participated last year and more than 20,000 people donated, resulting in almost $ 1,400,000 being raised for this great cause. In order to sign up for the race, I again had to personally guarantee to either fundraise or donate a minimum of $2,000. I am confident I'll reach that figure. My personal goal, however, is to raise significantly more than that, but to do that I'll need the help and support of a lot of people. I'll be running this year as part of a team that will run in honor and in memory of a friend’s cousin, 2nd Lieutenant TJ McGrath. TJ was a 1991 graduate of Reading Memorial High School and a 1995 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduation from West Point, TJ successfully completed Army Ranger School in Ft. Benning, Georgia and was then sent to Fort Hood, Texas. While at Fort Hood, TJ was in a tragic car accident and passed away. It is truly a privilege to honor him by raising funds to help his fellow soldiers who returned from serving us all get the help that they need. So, I wanted to write and ask that you consider sponsoring my run for this great cause by clicking on the Donation link. Please consider donating to this worthy cause if you can.

Help support our veterans by donating to my “Run to Home Base presented by New Balance“ race entry.

The 2018 RUN TO HOME BASE presented by New Balance is a unique and special event that celebrates our Military Heroes and raises necessary funds for Home Base, a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. The mission of Home Base is to heal the invisible wounds for Post-9/11 Veterans, Service Members and their Families, but we need your support.

Your support of Home Base will help to ensure that Veterans who served our country receive the clinical treatment they need and that their Families get the guidance and support they need.

Their Mission Is Complete. Ours Has Just Begun.
