Fundraiser Progress

$2,700.00 OF $2,000.00 GOAL

Hi, and welcome to my fundraising team for the 2018 Run to Home Base!

Hard to believe, but this is the ninth time I'm participating in this great cause - I've been involved since the first time it was held in 2010.  And starting the following year and through the present, I've been involved as part of TJ's Team, which is set up in honor and memory of my cousin, 2nd Lieutenant TJ McGrath.  As you're probably aware, the funds raised from the Run to Home Base go towards the Home Base Program, which provides veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury - as well as their families - with clinical care, education, research and community service.  Over the course of eight years, TJ's Team has raised close to $229,000 to help with this vital work!

For 2018, I've signed up as an "All Star" runner, meaning that I've committed to either raise at least $2,000, or pay any difference myself.  In all honesty, on reviewing the criteria, I didn't;t really see anything that I would 'get" by signing up under this category that I wouldn't if I simply signed up as a regular fundraiser and then proceeded to raise the higher amount.  However, all I had to think about is what each veteran puts on the line for all of us every day - they risk their lives, voluntarily separate from their families, and too many of them find themselves coming back suffering from the "invisible wounds of war".  In short, they put WAY more on the line for me than I ever could for them.  So, for 2018, I'll be an "All Star" fundraiser.  And there we are.

If you'd like to help me exceed my 2018 fundraising goal - and, more importantly, do something that will have a real impact on some veterans who need it - then please consider donating to my fundraising campaign by clicking on the red "Donate" button and contributing what you can - everything helps!  Please also consider sharing the link with any family or friends who might want to support our veterans in this way.  And, if you want to have a truly unforgettable experience in 2018 by participating in this one-of-a-kind event, please consider joining me and the rest of TJ's Team for this incredible event

Thanks for reading this, and for anything you are able and inclined to donate to help our heroes.

Help support our veterans by donating to my “Run to Home Base presented by New Balance“ race entry.

The 2018 RUN TO HOME BASE presented by New Balance is a unique and special event that celebrates our Military Heroes and raises necessary funds for Home Base, a partnership of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. The mission of Home Base is to heal the invisible wounds for Post-9/11 Veterans, Service Members and their Families, but we need your support.

Your support of Home Base will help to ensure that Veterans who served our country receive the clinical treatment they need and that their Families get the guidance and support they need.

Their Mission Is Complete. Ours Has Just Begun.
